HOW TO CREATE ANY FACEBOOK DEVICE APP AND UPDATE STATUS VIA IT

On one of my earlier Articles, I posted something on how you can update your facebook status via any device name given it's API key. I am not going to explain more on that as you can just go through that tutorial from here  . In this tutorial, i am going to focus mainly on how you can create your own facebook app and update status via it. e.g via Android, Iphone, Typewriter, via your own name or even via Toilet, it will all depend on your creativity. :P

Facebook developer mode enables you to create any facebook application of your choice, all that you need is a facebook account, an Internet connection and a brain... :P:P

Lets Start...

1. Login to your Facebook Account

2. Now go to https://www.facebook.com/developers/createapp.php and Click onCreate New App. 

3. A New App pop up box will appear, enter your App device name via which you want to be updating your status from, check the privacy box and hitContinue as shown below

In my case, my App device name is "Blackberry diamond" .. :P

4. After you click continue, Enter the Capture and Submit,. then it will take you to a screen that looks like the one below

5. Now Copy or write down your App ID (My device App ID is and upload your device icon so that it looks more realistic. For example i had put "Blackberry diamond" as my device App, therefore am going to upload an image containing a Blackberry Logo.

6. Save changes and that's it! you are done..

7. Now to update your status via Blackberry diamond, Replace App IDwith your Application ID number in the following URL

https://www.facebook.com/connect/prompt_feed.php?preview=true&api_key=App ID

• Since my App ID was 155482487888711 from step 5, therefore my resulting URL will be..

https://www.facebook.com/connect/prompt_feed.php?preview=true&api_key= 155482487888711

• Enter the above URL in your browser's address bar and Hit Enter!

From the above image, you will know what to do next :P

How to Deactivate Facebook Timeline and Get Back the Old Profile.

Facebook Timeline was recently launched on all Facebook Accounts across the globe and since it is a feature that affects our daily Facebooking, there is both likers and haters for the feature.

For those who are fed up of Facebook Timeline and would like to deactivate facebook timeline view they can follow the steps listed here and get back the old Facebook profile view.

*Note: Its important to note that Facebook Timeline is a server side feature/change and can only be deactivated from your profile by the Facebook team (which unfortunately is not a happening thing  ) What we are going to do here is a client side tweak that will get us back the old profile view only for our browser. Other’s profile will also appear in the normal form BUT others will still be able to see the timeline on your profile.

How to Deactivate Facebook Timeline

Chrome Users

Step 1. Right click on Chrome.exe Icon and Click on Properties.

Step 2. Make sure you are in the ‘Shortcut’ Tab.

Step 3. Paste the following code in the Target window after the : “C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe”

CODE – For Windows Vista & Windows 7 Users.

–user-agent=”Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0)”

CODE – For Windows XP Users.

–user-agent=”Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1)”

Note: Leave space between

“C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe”<SPACE>–user-agent=”Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0)”

Step 4. Close your Browser and Restart it and hard refresh your profile page (Ctrl+F5). You will get the Old profile view with some Formatting errors like extra space between header etc. To Fix those errors, Install this Extension in Google Chrome. [LINK]

Firefox Users

Step 1. Open this [LINK] and install the User Agent Switcher Addon. Restart Browser.

Step 2. Open Firefox, Press the Alt Key > Open Tools > Default User Agent > Internet Explorer and choose Internet Explorer 7.

Step 3. Open Facebook and hard refresh your profile page (Ctrl+F5). You will get the Old profile view with some Formatting errors like extra space between header etc. To Fix those errors, Install this Extension in Google Chrome. [LINK]

Safari Users

Step 1. Open Safari Browser, go to the Preferences menu > Advanced > Tick the “Show Develop menu in menu bar” option.

Step 2. Click the page icon menu (next to the Gear icon near Search Bar) then select the Develop/user agent menu, Choose the User Agent as Internet Explorer 7.

Step 3. Open Facebook and hard refresh your profile page (Ctrl+F5). You will get the Old profile view with some Formatting errors like extra space between header etc. To Fix those errors, Install this Extension in Google Chrome. [LINK]

Opera Users

Opera does support changing user agents to Internet Explorer, But there is no way to set it to specific version of IE so this trick wont work in Opera, Although if you want to learn how to change user agent in Opera for specific sites. The follow the steps below.

Step 1. Open the site where you want to change user agent.

Step 2. Press F12 Key.

Step 3. Choose Edit Site Preference > Network > Browser Identification.

Step 4. Choose Mask as Internet Explorer OR any other that you want to choose.

Internet Explorer

If you are using Internet Explorer 7 then no need as you already have the Non-Timeline aka old profile view. If you are using updated versions of IE then you can try to use the compatibility view of the browser to try and get the Old Profile View.

Step 1. Open Facebook Profile Page.

Step 2. Press Alt Key. Click on Tools > Compatibility View Settings.

Step 3. If facebook.com is already filled in, Click on Add else fill in facebook.com and Click on Add followed by Close.

Step 4. Refresh the page.

Facebook Desktop Messenger Official

There’s some good news for all Facebook Maniacs who wish to access Facebook right from the Windows Desktop through the official Desktop app. Yes, Facebook is testing out a desktop client integrated with Ticker feature. 

However, currently it’s available to only a small group of users for beta testing. The randomly selected Facebook users are being prompted to participate& join the test group via a homepage notification on Facebook itself.

If you aren’t that lucky to be chosen, here is the download link of the app, straight from Facebook itself. It’s been officially stated that that this desktop client only works on Windows 7. So, I didn’t test it on any other Windows version. Be sure to checkout &

How to Disable Facebook Timeline in Chrome, Firefox and Safari

If you do not want to timeline more, then friends don’t worry. I received a tricks on my email from my friends, I tested it and it works great so i share this tricks with you.

• How to Remove or Disable Timeline From Mozilla FireFox:-

If you are using the Mozilla Firefox then it’s very easy to disable timeline. First of all install UserAgent Switcher Extension from here(user-agent-switcher) and then choose the Internet Explorer 7 by selecting Firefox tools/Useragent Switcher/Interent Explorer.

• How to Remove or Disable Timeline From Google Chrome:-

For Windows 7 and Windows vista:-

Right Click on the Google Chrome icon and click on proprieties and  in target box add following syntax after/chrome.exe”

and click on Apply and Ok.

How to Remove or Disable Timeline From Safari:-

For Safari Browser go into the preferences menu, select “advanced”, then tick the “enable developers menu” then exit the preferences menu. then click the page icon menu (next to the cog wheel icon) then select the “develop/user agent” menu, there you can choose theuser agent you wish to use for the current website you are viewing. Select Internet Explorer 7.
